All of our Kids Clubs are billed monthly. We do this by securely storing your card details on your account and then charging them at the beginning of the month.
Mini Club: £55 per month
Kids Club: £65 per month
Home Ed Clubs: £55 per month
We also have the option for you to add on unlimited climbing to your membership for as low as £12 per month. This will enable you to come climbing outside of your club time as much as you want.

If you have been offered a space and have been enrolled on to our kids club then below are the steps to help get you set up.
We bill for our kids club at the start of each month. If you are joining part way through a month you will only be charged for the remaining sessions of that month and then your first full payment will be taken at the beginning of the next month.
On your first session of the club, the reception team will be able to take payment for the sessions that you will be attending this month. For example, if there are 3 weeks left in this month then you will only be charged for 3 sessions. Our Mini Club and Home Ed Clubs are £13.75 per session and our Kids Club is £16.25 per session.
To ensure we can bill you for future months you will need to set up your payment details, you can do this by following these steps:
Head over to our membership portal using this link: https://www.volume1climbing.co.uk/signin
Login (or register if it is your first time) using the email address we have been contacting you on.
You can then navigate to the wallet tab where you are able to set up your preferred payment details for future membership payments.
These details are what we will use to bill you at the start of each month. You can update your details at any time. by repeating the above steps

We have a fantastic Kids Club logbook that the kids use to help track their progress.
The logbook has 4 levels that go start with the basics of climbing and takes them all the way through to teaching advanced skills and techniques. At the end of each level the children are presented with a certificate and badge from their instructor.
There is no additional charge for logbooks, and they are included in the price of the club.
We advise parents to make themselves familiar with the books and to help ensure they are brought with them each week. There is also some additional online support content in the books that is viewable by scanning the QR codes. Check them out to help understand some of the climbing terminology used.

All of our Kids Club run all the way through the year and we do not break for traditional school holidays. This allows the children to really progress in their climbing and develop their skills.
Due to the limited numbers that we are able to have on our kids club we are unable to hold spaces for those who are going away for long periods of time.

Clothing:
Any clothes which children can move easily in and are suitable for physical activity are perfect. The most important thing is that they feel comfortable and happy, however, we recommend nothing too loose, so fabric does not get caught on a hold mid dynamic move!
Footwear:
Climbing shoe hire is included free of charge with your Kids Club membership. If your child wants their own pair of shoes, Kids Club membership entitles you to 10% off in our shop. We have a great range of children's climbing shoes available and provide an expert fitting service. To see the range click here VOLUME 1 SHOP
Some young children find different shoes difficult, if this is the case, your child is welcome to wear their own shoes so long as they are closed toe and clean, such as plimsoles or indoor trainers.
For health and safety reasons we ask that shoes are always worn on the climbing wall, climbing in socks or barefoot is prohibited.
Young children and SEN
For any children who may struggle to stay with the instructed session for the full duration of the Kids Club, we ask that a parent or guardian remains on site so the child can return to them as needed.
Bouldering can be a wonderfully inclusive sport, and is brilliant for helping with our regulation, our mental health and developing coordination skills. We have designed our Kids Clubs with inclusivity in mind and do not currently offer a separate SEN Kids Club. Please let reception or the instructor know if there is anything that will help us support your child making the most of their session. It can be helpful to share any diagnosis your child has received or is waiting to be assessed for. Other information such as special interests, likes and dislikes, and stimming behaviours, can also be really helpful for the instructor to know, so they can make the session as enjoyable and accessible as possible.
Cover Instructors
We aim to keep a regular climbing instructor on each session, however due to holidays, sickness, and occasional scheduling demands there will at times be cover instructors taking the Kids Club. If your child finds these changes particularly difficult, please let reception know. We will keep a note and will do our best to inform you of any changes so you can prepare your child. However, please note, where a last minute change has had to occur this may not always be possible.
Injuries, health conditions and allergies:
Please share information with reception and your child’s climbing instructor about any injuries, health conditions or allergies, along with how we can best support your child with these or where, for example, they keep their EpiPen.
Please consult a health professional to check the suitability of bouldering before allowing them to participate.
Absences:
Where possible please let reception know about any booked holidays or planned absences. This allows the instructor to plan their sessions accordingly and prepare for their return.
-
What to bring:
Please bring a bottle of water and their Kids Club logbook to every session. Logbooks can be kept at reception if needed. Please allow time when you arrive to collect their book from reception, as it is not always possible to bring the group through to find individual books left at reception after the start of the session.
When you arrive:
Please aim to arrive with plenty of time to visit the toilet and get your children’s climbing shoes on.
Parents must check their children in at reception and hand them over to the instructor ready for the start of the session. We recommend that children have visited the toilet before their club begins and remind everyone that climbing shoes should not be warn outside of the climbing hall.
For older children who may arrive or leave on their own, please inform reception by e-mail that this is the arrangement so we can keep a record.
All children will better be able make the most out of their climbing sessionif they arrive well rested. If there is something which may impact your child’s ability to participate that day, please let the instructor know at the beginning of the session.
Please remember that parents are responsible for their children until they have been handed over to their instructor and must collect their children from the instructor at the end of the session.
Spectating:
Parents are of course welcome to stay and watch their children on their clubs. However, we find that sometimes this can be a distraction to the child, and some children are better able to participate if a parent is not in the climbing hall. Arriving back in the climbing hall a little early for collection can be a great way for children to show off their new skills, while allowing the space for the club to run without too much disruption. We recommend that all parents stay on site during the club in case of injury, or them simply needing a moment with you. We hope that the cafe or garden will provide a lovely spot to relax while someone else cares for your little one!
Please talk to your child's climbing instructor if your child needs you to remain on the mats with them, so you can work together and allow the club to run with minimal disruption to the other participants.
End of the session:
Please collect your child from the instructor in the climbing hall on time at the end of the session. If you have left the building and are going to be late collecting, please let reception know on the 01342 891292. The instructor will then return your child to reception, who will wait with them until you arrive.

We understand that sometimes things get in the way and it may not be possible to attend every session. We have therefore factored in to our pricing and over the whole year you only actually pay for 48 sessions even though we run them every week of the year. This means that you technically get 4 ‘free’ sessions over the year.
If for any reason we have to cancel your session then you will be credited for that week. This will be applied to your membership account and be deducted from your next monthly payment.
-
If your child can’t get enough of climbing, we offer a super discounted Kids Club “bolt on” membership, offering unlimited climbing for as low as £12 extra a month (usual supervising rules apply).
You can updgrade your membership to include unlimited climbing at any point in the month. Either as a single month or a recurring membership add-on.
Please ask at reception for more information and to sign up.

Providing we have space then this is not a problem to change days/clubs.
However please be aware that due to the popularity there is limited availability and your old slot will most likely be taken quickly.
If you are lookign to change, you can talk to our Clubs Manager via clubs@volume1climbing.co.uk who will be happy to help and give advice.
-
You can cancel at any point providing you give us at least 2 weeks’ notice before the next billing date (the 1st of each month).
If you cancel then your space will then be open for someone else to book as sadly we can not hold spaces due to restricted numbers.
To cancel please email clubs@volume1climbing.co.uk or call our team on 01342 891292
